Human trafficking profits roughly $150 billion every year for traffickers. It’s easy to believe this is a problem “out there” or in third-world countries. The reality is that the sex industry is thriving even in the United States. Thankfully awareness is rising, and this battle is being fought by many on different fronts.
As an organization, Refuge for Women is deep in the trenches of this fight. We are a non-profit, faith-based organization that provides long-term aftercare and safe housing for women leaving sexual exploitation and trafficking. The program is designed to help our residents identify goals for their future, equip and assist them in reaching those goals, and to facilitate healing from long term trauma. Our hope is for each woman to leave Refuge for Women equipped to be self-sustainable and to enjoy a life marked by dignity and hope.
On October 5th, we will be hosting our 3rd Annual Fundraising Gala. This annual Gala helps us raise a significant portion of revenue needed to continue our mission and is our largest event of the year.
