From the heart of Executive Director, Abby Germer
Happy New Year! I love celebrating new beginnings and that is something we get to do often at Refuge for Women. As we get new residents throughout the year, we get to celebrate new beginnings with a fresh start filled with hope, healing, and a new perspective on life. However, I personally start reflecting in the fall and seeking God for direction, clarity, and purpose for the upcoming year both in my personal life and for our mission at Refuge for Women North Texas. As we have continued to grow in impact and services, we have continued to follow His lead. For 2023, I felt very strongly that God showed us the word Steadfast. That we were to remain steadfast in our purpose so that we can sustain our mission.
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let the steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James 1:2-4
We know that this year will hold various trials and testing as this is life. However, when we are reminded that this testing produces steadfastness so that we may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing, we are reminded that we can do hard things.
God is going to continue to provide for our every need … The mission we serve is so vital to eternal life. Thank you for all that has been and will continue to do as we continue to press on towards our mission. Salvations are at stake, and we are making a difference together.
For The One,
Abby Germer
