Las Vegas

FROM THE DESK OF DR. BEVERLY GIVENS

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”
Philippians 1:6

As we enter October, I am reminded that rebuilding rarely happens all at once. It happens one day, one decision, and one faithful step at a time.

At Refuge for Women Las Vegas, we are continuing to rebuild our program while welcoming women into a safe place where their own rebuilding can begin.

This month, we are celebrating a beautiful milestone: one of our residents has reached her first 30 days with us.

Thirty days may sound like a small benchmark, but we know the courage it takes to simply stay. To sit still long enough to process trauma. To begin replacing old patterns with healthier ones. To learn new ways of caring for yourself mentally, physically, and spiritually. To begin believing that a different life really is possible.

Today, she is safe. She is doing the work. And we thank God for every day of progress.

This is what your support makes possible.

Every gift, prayer, donation, event you attend, and item you purchase from our wish list helps create the space where a woman can step away from exploitation and begin again.

You may never see all the quiet moments that happen inside our home—the conversations, breakthroughs, difficult days, prayers, laughter, tears, and small victories—but you are part of them.

We are still rebuilding, and there is still much work ahead. But Philippians 1:6 reminds me that God does not abandon the work He begins.

Thank you for continuing to walk with her. ❤️

With gratitude and hope,

Dr. Beverly Givens

Help Make Our House a Home

Thank you for helping us care for our home and the women we serve. We are grateful for your generous heart!

Our Restoration Home is more than a safe place to stay—it is a place where women live, learn, heal, build community, and prepare for what comes next.

Our Current Needs & Wish List includes both everyday items we use regularly and larger items that help us care for our home, residents, and program.

Your gifts help us:

Welcome Her Home — clothing basics, new underwear, socks, pajamas, and personal items

Support Everyday Life — household, laundry, kitchen, personal-care, and other regularly used essentials

Learn & Grow — journals, class supplies, educational materials, and tools that support personal growth

Rest & Connect — games, crafts, activities, and recreational items that help create healthy community

Prepare for What’s Next — workforce development, education, and employment-readiness supplies

Care for Our Home — larger or one-time needs that help us maintain and improve the home and property

Every item donated helps create a home and program where restoration can happen.

CURRENT NEEDS & WISH LIST

You do not have to purchase through Amazon to help. The list is also a guide to our current needs. In most cases, items do not need to be the exact brands or quantities shown unless otherwise noted.

If you’d prefer to shop elsewhere, provide an item directly, organize a donation drive, or help with one of our larger needs, please contact lasvegas@refugeforwomen.org. A member of our volunteer team will be happy to coordinate with you and arrange pickup of your donation.

Thank you for walking beside the women of Refuge and helping make our house a home.
